Homefront - coming 15th March 2011
Another new FPS releasing in March, a game about Korean occupation of the United States. This game supports up to 32 players online on dedicated servers:
PC Features:
THQ and Digital Extremes have detailed the PC version of upcoming shooter, Homefront, and revealed that it will have a plethora of extra features and options beyond the console versions of the game.
According to a post on the official Homefront blog, the PC version of the game will feature extra viewpoints for all vehicles, so that all vehicles can be driven in first and third person mode.
Helicopters will get improved controls too, with three different settings for players to try out, from Ace (most control, but most difficult) to Rookie (pick up and play) difficulties. There's also a Practice Mode for players who want to practice helicopter flying outside out multiplayer or singleplayer levels.
Squad management and clan support has been added to the PC version as well, plus Valve's VAC anti-cheat system and more post-match stat tracking.
PC players with the appropriate hardware will get extra performance from SLI/Crossfire configurations, as well as support for Nvdia's 3DVision.

Re: Homefront - coming 15th March 2011
Hmm.. Looks like Black Ops with Vehicles to me.. The way the game models move in the game tells me that.. Haha. But we'll never be sure as its just based on the footages..
But i think its worth paying attention to it! Maybe its something that we can jump into like UO! With all the vehicles and the huge map space that we can maneuver in!

Yea this game is worth looking into though too bad there's no demo for it. A demo is always good for us to check out the quality and gameplay of a game before buying it. The selling point for this game is that it's got a dedicated team developing exclusively for the PC version instead of it being another console port.

Homefront dedicated servers detailed:
Homefront PC’s online component is being developed by Digital Extremes, the creators of Unreal and Unreal Tournament. Their job is to add PC specific features to Homefront, including clan support, vehicle cockpits, stat tracking and dedicated servers. Read on to find out what you’ll be able to customise in Homefront’s online game.
They won’t offer a free reign to admins, as the devs are concerned that too much customisation will ruin the balance of the game. As a result, spawn times and weapon availability options will be locked off. There’s still plenty of wiggle room, however, as demonstrated by the list of features below.
* There will be no option to change spawn times or the weapons available to the players.
* No hardcore mode is included, so tough luck for the gamers who liked to kill and die quick. This is done mainly to preserve the competitive aspect.
* Servers will be able to run in ‘mixed mode’, which will alter the game-types of the server automatically.
* There will be a “Message of the Day” support, and the option to make servers private is also a possibility.
* Admins will be able to toggle auto-balancing on and off, force a player to spectate, and switch members to a team.
* The dedicated servers do not required Steam Client to be logged in.
* Developers are considering a patch that will allow a Ready-up Timer, Halftime team-switching/side switching and round numbers selection.
* For those who are interested in prematurely learning about the server variables, here they are:
o Server Name
o MOTD
o Game Mode (easy to have mixed mode)
o GC Score Limit
o TDM Score Limit
o Time Limit
o Internet (off for LAN)
o Vac Secured
o No of Slots
o Game Port
o Query Port
o AdminPassword
o GamePassword
o Friendly Fire
o No Vehicles
o Record Demo

Looks like BF2 mixed with CoD elements. Probably more worth it than Crysis 2.

Re: Homefront - coming 15th March 2011
Yea wait a week after launch to ascertain user reactions. There's not likely to be local servers for this game, fragnetics doesn't really wanna host anything for the public unless the games are from EA or Valve.
Re: Homefront - coming 15th March 2011
You've been watching Homefront gameplay on consoles, this is the real PC multiplayer gameplay footage for the game and it definitely looks better than the console version:
