PC Multiplayer demo coming out on 1st March!
The time has come for PC gamers to take their best shot in Crysis 2 multiplayer. Available for download at http://crysis.ea.com and other partner sites on March 1, the Crysis 2 multiplayer demo includes two stunning maps, two adrenaline-filled modes, and hours of multiplayer action. In the demo, PC gamers will master the game’s signature Nanosuit, which allows them to be strong, be invisible, be fast and become the ultimate weapon.

Players will compete in six vs. six matches set against a war-torn Manhattan in two maps: “Skyline”, set on top of the rooftops and interiors of skyscrapers, and “Pier 17”, an open environment with limited cover. The demo also features two modes: “Team Instant Action” pits two teams against each other as they kill as many opponents as possible to win the round and “Crash Site,” where players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay.

Multiplayer Overview
Crysis 2 brings modern FPS multiplayer into the future warfare arena, with gameplay centered around giving each individual player the power of the Nanosuit. Crysis 2 multiplayer is based on the war between Nanosuit wearing military personnel and C.E.L.L. (Crynet Enforcement & Local Logistics).

All 12 multiplayer maps are set in Crytek’s stunning re-creation of New York city with level design geared to take full advantage of different Nanosuit powers. The game will feature 6 modes giving players a diverse amount of choices, including Crash Site and Team Instant Action. Furthermore, Crysis 2 multiplayer will feature deep progression and long term rewards for players, experience, Nanosuit and weapons upgrades.

i'm suprised at the requirements!

First bug -> cannot create account for beta game at present! Probably due to their login server overloading on day 1 of demo...

Just tried the demo, game is quite fun. Fragnetics has 6 servers for the game so no lag playing the demo. Game is only 6 vs 6 and there's two gametypes for the demo, one TDM-like and the other capture crash sites kind of gametype.

I only got to play one of the map and in it your character can swim underwater! You also have a nanosuit where you can toggle to be invisible, extra armor or nano vision with it. Pretty cool! There's an alien ship flying across sometimes and i think you are able to call that out for your team at some point. No left or right strafe for the game but u can crouch (no prone though). Worth to try out the demo!

It's CoD + Halo! And yea it's sci-fi as the year is 2023 and aliens invade New York City!

Update: Fragnetics now has 20 servers running the demo so we have a good number of local servers to pick to play the demo! I expect all 20 servers to be full in the evening when everyone gets back home to play.

The server browser is excellent compared to server browsers in the last few games, at least there's a "connect thru' ip" and "add favourites" option available out of the box!

Cool! Gonna check the demo out! Nowadays only play L4D2 with my uni mates while taking a break from work at 11pm-12am... Grr..

I finished a few games with the demo and I agree they've combined the flexibility of Halo Reach's armor abilities and combined them with the gun mechanics of CoD, which is nice. But the fact that multiplayer is limited to 18 players means that it might end up like modern warfare 2.

I thought the MP playerlimit is 12 only? I think this game's MP will be fun for a short period of time with the addition of the nanosuit features. The maps look small and the limited player number for servers might not provide as thrilling a gameplay as it should. How fun can it be for just 6 v 6?

The graphics and layout of the map looks great and the game has been running smoothly for me, no stutters or lag like in BO. There's a couple of issues with logging into servers at present, not sure why. I see a server with 8/12 and try to login but it says "connection to host failed". The server browser also does not give an accurate display of actual player numbers in the server sometimes. You can refresh the server browser and the server slot shows 8/12 but when you click the "Join" button it tells you "Server is full". This login issue will likely improve after the demo is over.

Cant even connect at the login screen. Doing a search will reveal a lot of players are having the same problem. Tells much about the game, i dont want a repeated BO.

i heard them saying if u already have crysis account confirm can..else have to keep on trying to create new account?
