ok, talking about survival..
it's little bit similar to zombies..

but it'll be fun cause you start from a pistol and end of each wave, you get to buy/upgrade/unlock
you get to level up like the normal mp...
each wave is different so you get land as well as ariel assault...
it's laggy for me, not sure why cause mp does not lag..
maybe it's the amount of details?!
and survival, only 2 players to co-op...not sure why..

at least you get different waves instead of the usual faster/more/stronger zombies as in BO zombies

you get to choose the map you want to play so it won't bore you that fast cause each map provides different options and style you and your mate will want to call it your base and defend/attack...

comparing to zombie...i still prefer zombie though

i army mahz only weekend can play =p
so weekend should be able to find me somehow xD

this weekend we party then..
usually at nights we'll party..
if we have the numbers, i prefer to private instead of GW cause in GW, more lag and more suspects of hackers..

it's really not that bad...u just need the company to play...cause I tried playing alone joining other lobby BUT the agony of bad mates puts u off..

no more can 1 person remarkably carry the team to a victory...it's really a team effort now..

kutch also have lehz LOL... but neme i didt saw u online?

wind, you need to pick up maps you can play as sniper..

in MW3, almost all maps, quite difficult to play sniper...cause small and fast..

prolly just 3-4 maps you can play sniper..rest assault or smg is easier..

ya, like wat nem said, MW3 can really bond with party play

Ok ok thanks for your detailed feedback nem, i'll take another serious look at MW3 again. This game is soooo expensive though! Don't forget there will be lots of DLCs coming up that you will have to pay for if you want to keep enjoying a smooth matchmaking experience with others. That's a good deal of recurring payment down the pipeline.

Finally relented and bought the game! I buy it mainly because we have buddies here like nem, kutch and wind playing it so it's worth the price for being able to play with you guys again!

But but....found out my DVD drive ran into problems and i couldn't install from the disc so i have to download the whole MW3 from steam which is taking a long time....and then suddenly my sound port hit a problem and now i have no sound....why like that? Something powerful is trying to stop me from playing MW3!!??

most of them have turn to the darkside (Prestige)... the force is powerful there.....

Had my first few MP games last night and partied with Kutch and Slowbe. The game amazes me with the ease of allowing me to pop into my steam friends' games as well as how fast it matchmakes our party into another game in the lobby. A new game usually starts in less than a minute and it's fun to see the matchmaking attempting to find players first within 50 ping and then 150 ping automatically for us.

I also like the fact that MW3 has a color-blind setting which you can turn on so it makes identifying enemies easier for people who have difficulty with colors.

I only tried out the "kill confirmed" gamemode last night and i enjoyed it, gleefully going after dog tags to deny and confirm kills. I enjoyed doing this more than fragging, not that i could get any frags!

I miss being able to strafe left and right, tossing out a nade accidentally a few times while pressing Q!

The only issue that stopped me from fully enjoying the game is the lag but that is understandable from my end as i am playing through a wireless connection on a notebook from my in-law's place.

In the end i thoroughlly enjoyed my short few sessions last night and the experience is definitely better than with Black Ops. Steam + MW3 party system + fast intelligent matchmaking > Black Ops dedicated server any time!

P.S. I now secretly hope that more of us can get into this game as what nem said about the party system offering us the experience of having a clanner every night. The system eases us from game to game on the same side (and giving us a distinct team color so we can see each other on the map easily) for every map so we get more opportunities than any other MW or CoD game to fight and play as a team.

X'mas is here, so I might be able to grab it assuming I have enough left over money after my shopping spree

Also, is it worth it the get the boxed copy? What did they give you with the boxed?

Dunno what they will give u in the boxed copy at your side but over here in Singapore...NOTHING!!! just 2 DVD discs + a pitiful 8 page booklet with no game information except for a 2 page controls listing.

who u partied with? ideal party size is 6 so we get to host (more chance)..

i dont wana party with people i dont want to party with

there so many stats and acclolades(my bad if spelt wrongly) like most tags collected in a match etc...and so many tags/emblems....

many many interesting features and so so many guns!!

seriously...the party thing as much as i hate it...somehow captures the desire to play...cause you're guranteed of your mates...and if numbers persists, we can have internal scrims or clanners...all hosted within ourselves...so why need dedicated server?!!

Yea now CoD has about 20 gamemodes, many more than other shooters. I wanna try survival soon! Any level required to unlock survival?

U need dedicated servers for it's stability, low ping and 24/7 service. I do like the way the party and matchmaking mechanism works, seems to be more sophisticated and efficient than left4dead's system.

survival mode you just launch single player..it's not under multiplayer
no need for unlock..

i just relised you need to at least prestige 1 to be leader of party?!

how to get the points?
by getting more n more crates?
what you mean hold the drop zone?
just stay there and it's our drop zone?

cause i noticed from the map it's green and red at times(obvious red means opposition team has it) but i mean how do you "hold"...stay in the circle?

and omfgbbq....you guys all hogging the drop zone leh...nobody killing..
and the reason why you guys had so much time hogging it was cause i had to cut off their advance from ALL directions

The color blind assist option is available under the options menu.

Here is a description on how to play drop zone:

Get to the drop zone to earn points, the first team to 7500 points wins the round, but thats not all. As long as the Drop Zone is occupied, a care package will drop every 15 seconds, which ever team has the most members in the drop zone at that point "owns" the care package, but anyone can steal it. This is the only way to earn air support in this mode, all other pointstreaks are disabled. You'll earn 20 points per team member, for every second they're in the drop zone plus 20 XP individually for your time spent in the zone. Kills are worth 50 XP in this mode.

Custom Settings: Pointstreaks (besides those obtained through in-game care packages) are disabled.

I think the objective here is to be at the location of the dropzone in order to capture it and then keep earning points. If you distance yourself too far away from the dropzone your enemies can "steal" your care package away from you. Yes you have to kill your enemies but do it from within your dropzone as far as possible. In our case your strategy of having someone like yourself to eliminate enemy advances will work for us because you're so strong and sharp. Of course the disadvantage for you is that you don't get to earn points as you are away from the dropzone.

I like HQ too! It's almost like dropzone in terms of concept.

drop zone is nice especially with the fast pace of MW3! every second like heart attack sia..

like last night's last map, we were liks losing for much of the game untill the last drop zone which we managed to secure first

we don't a a thread for MW3 tips so I'll just post them here..

by now you guys should already know some standard features in MW3:

kill streak
ASSAULT-gets reset when you die
SUPPORT-Accumulated kill streak so it won't reset
SPECIALISTS-I use this to rank up(achieve challenges) Perk1,Perk2 and Perk3, need not be selected this way. You unselect all, and just select the first perk you want for kill streak...it will become the first perk. So no need to follow the sequence of Perk1, Perk2 and Perk3. *HINT* i use hardline as my first kill streak for SPECIALIST, this way subsequent will be 2-3-5 instead of 2-4-6.
An if u have hardline pro==2assist gives you 1 kill. very useful for peple like me can't kill and can only injure enemy

Assault-u can use predator missile and air strike to help in achieving overall kill streak. If lucky, u can kill 3 with predator so you get your airstrike without killing by gun.

Support-osprey carepackage. Most people select a location where safe and far away from enemy. I think you only ensure care package may not get stolen. BUT if you have the guts to use the location where enemy comes, not only u get care packages, you can also hold that position cause the osprey gunner will kill for you while delivering the care pacakges

Specialist-Completing challenges gives you more XP than just killing and winning games..so chop and change around the perks/streaks to complete each challenge
